Due in part to a generous grant from the Ben Roethlisberger Foundation at The Giving Back Fund, K-9 Ozzy now sports a new K-9 Ballistic Vest. The Bellevue Police Foundation contributed the remaining funds for this vest. These life saving vests help to protect K-9s against harm while they are on patrol, attempt to apprehend and subdue a suspect, and protect their handlers.

Bellevue Police were awarded a $1,500 grant last Wednesday by the Ben Roethlisberger Foundation at The Giving Back Fund that will help pay for a protective vest for the department's newest police dog, Ozzy. The Bellevue Police Foundation is contributing the remaining $1,000. Ozzy, who finished his initial training in May, has been the only dog in the department's three dog unit without a protective vest.
