Team Responsibility | Jeff Murphy is an Account Executive in Parker, Smith & Feek’s Commercial Insurance Department. He is charged with providing advice and counsel on risk management strategy for large, complex businesses and designs insurance programs which meet the unique requirements of these companies. He also assists his clients in weighing the merits of alternative risk funding mechanisms.

Experience | Jeff’s clients have included large manufacturers with worldwide operations and distribution; non-profit/healthcare based businesses including hospitals and clinics; real estate owners and developers; financial institutions and private equity firms. He has an extensive background in property risks and can offer real world experience in loss prevention and risk engineering. His background includes arranging insurance coverage for large property portfolios utilizing both domestic and international insurers.

Insurance services for venture capitalists, private equity investors, and similar capital managers, are a special area of interest and expertise for Jeff. He has assisted these clients in merger and acquisition transactions, due diligence reviews, and insurance protection for outside directors, portfolio managers, board members, and individual investors.

Background | Beginning his insurance career in 1992, Jeff was a Loss Control Consultant for Factory Mutual Engineering. He joined Marsh in 1994 in the Property Loss Control Department. As his career developed, he became increasing involved in business development, and ultimately became a Managing Director in the Seattle office of Marsh. He joined Parker, Smith & Feek in 2007, is a Principal and Vice President of the firm and sits on the firm’s Board of Directors.

Jeff is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is active in professional and trade associations and holds the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) professional designation.
